National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) invites online application for 08 posts of Technical Specialist, Computational Laboratory Manager, Data Analyst and Project Coordinator (Administration). The vacancies are for the project “Systems Medicine Cluster (SyMeC): Accelerating Systems Medicine using a Cluster Approach” at National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG). The candidates will be appinted on Contractual basis initially for a period of Six (06) months, extendable depending upon performance of the candidates and requirements of the project. TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
No. of Vacancies: 04 Nos.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc or equivalent (or B.Sc with 03 years laboratory experience) in Genetics/ Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ related discipline.
Experience: Minimum 03 years of experience of working with high-throughput genomics platforms.
Desirable: i) Experience in whole genome/ targeted sequencing, RNASeq, GWAS and Methylation Array.
ii) Experience in DNA and RNA isolation from archived bio specimens e.g. FFPE tissue.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.40000 per month
2. COMPUTATIONAL LABORATORY MANAGER
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: i) PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Computational Biology or related discipline.
ii) Demonstrated knowledge of computer programming and data management.
Experience: i) Minimum 03 years of experience of working in large statistical/ bigdata/ genomics projects/ consultancy.
ii) Experience in management of computational laboratory.
Desirable: i) Degree/ Diploma in Management.
ii) Conversance with Quality Assurance and GLP (IT).
iii) Proven track record of independent academic work and leadership.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.80000 per month
3. DATA ANALYST
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: i) B.Tech/ M.Tech, MSc or equivalent in Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Bioinformatics or a related discipline.
ii) High proficiency in programming in C/ C++, Java or python.
iii) Proficiency in UNIX command line scripting.
iv) Prior experience in high-throughput data (NGS) analysis.
v) Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of the team is essential.
Desirable: i) Handling of software packages and genomic databases.
ii) Experience in handling large volume DNA sequence/ genotyping data in large projects.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.40000 per month
4. PROJECT COORDINATOR (ADMINISTRATION)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc or equivalent in Life Sciences or related subject.
Desirable: i) Experience in life science/ genomics services industry.
ii) Experience in project planning, oversight of time execution.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.40000 per month
