Northeast Frontier Railway - Job Details
Northeast Frontier Railway invites online application for 4499 posts of Act Apprentice. The candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for a period of One (01) year under the Apprentices Act 1961 in the trades mentioned below at different Workshops/ Units in the jurisdiction of Northeast Frontier Railway for the year 2019-20. Eligible and interested candidates may apply Online only through the official website of the Northeast Frontier Railway (See link given below). iii) Fitter- 934 posts
iv) Diesel Mechanic- 533 posts
v) Electrician- 973 posts
vi) Refrigerator & AC Mechanic- 142 posts
vii) Electronics Mechanic- 120 posts
viii) Lineman- 136 posts
ix) Information Technology & Electronic System Maintenance- 270 posts
x) Mason- 446 posts
xi) Carpenter- 97 posts
xii) Painter- 180 posts
xiii) Turner- 12 posts
xiv) Fitter Structural- 40 posts
xv) Machinist (Grinder)- 30 posts
Educational Qualification: Must have passed 10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks, in aggregate, from recognized Board and also possess National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the respective trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training or Provisional Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training/ State Council for Vocational Training.
Age Limit: Should have completed 15 years and should not have completed 24 years as on 01/01/2020.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
The candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for a period of One (01) year under the Apprentices Act 1961 in the designated trades at different Workshops/ Units in the jurisdiction of Northeast Frontier Railway for the year 2019-20.
The Divisions/ Workshops wise vacancies are given below:-
i) Katihar division (KIR) & TDH Workshop Unit– 970 posts (UR-490, OBC-262, SC-145, ST-73. Out of the total posts, 97 posts are reserved for ESM and 39 posts are reserved for PWD).
ii) Alipurduar Unit (APDJ)– 493 posts (UR-247, OBC-133, SC-76, ST-37. Out of the total posts, 49 posts are reserved for ESM and 20 posts are reserved for PWD).
iii) Rangiya Unit (RNY)– 435 posts (UR-218, OBC-117, SC-67, ST-33. Out of the total posts, 43 posts are reserved for ESM and 17 posts are reserved for PWD).
iv) Lumding division (LMG) & S&T Workshop unit– 1302 posts (UR-655, OBC-353, SC-197, ST-97. Out of the total posts, 130 posts are reserved for ESM and 52 posts are reserved for PWD).
v) Tinsukia division Unit (TSK)– 484 posts (UR-243, OBC-131, SC-73, ST-37. Out of the total posts, 48 posts are reserved for ESM and 19 posts are reserved for PWD).
vi) New Bongaigaon Workshop (NBQS) Unit & EWS/ BNGN– 539 posts (UR-273, OBC-145, SC-80, ST-41. Out of the total posts, 53 posts are reserved for ESM and 22 posts are reserved for PWD).
vii) Dibrugarh Workshop (DBWS) Unit– 276 posts (UR-138, OBC-75, SC-42, ST-21. Out of the total posts, 28 posts are reserved for ESM and 11 posts are reserved for PWD).
Candidates’ Selection: Selection will be done on Merit basis based on percentage of marks obtained in matriculation plus ITI marks.

Application Fee: Candidates must pay Application Fee of Rs.100/-. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. Fee Challan can be downloaded from the official website of Northeast Frontier Railway. See released advertisement for more details.
NO APPLICATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ ST/ PWD/ WOMEN CANDIDATES.
