The candidates will initially be appointed on Temporary basis. Selection of candidates will be through West Bengal Judicial Service Examination, 2020. CIVIL JUDGE (JUNIOR DIVISION)
No. of Vacancies: 26 Nos. (UR-16, SC-03, ST-01, OBC(A)-03, OBC(B)-02, PWD-01)
Educational Qualification for Civil Judge West Bengal PSC:
i) A degree in Law from any recognized University or Institution.
ii) Enrollment as an advocate in the roll of Bar Council of any State or Union Territory in India.
iii) Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).
Age Limit for Civil Judge West Bengal PSC: Minimum 23 years and maximum 35 years as on 04/07/2020.
Pay Scale: Rs.27700 — Rs.44770
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST of West Bengal, 03 years for BC (NCL) of West Bengal and upto 45 years of age for PWD category.
Note:- The S.C./ S.T./ B.C. candidates of States other than West Bengal will be treated as general candidates.
Candidates’ Selection for Civil Judge West Bengal PSC:
The selection of candidates
will be done through West Bengal Judicial Service Examination, 2020
which will be held in three stages, namely
(i) Preliminary Examination (MCQ Type),
(ii) Final Examination (Conventional Type – Written) and
(iii) Personality Test.
The Preliminary Examination will be held in
Kolkata and Darjeeling in October , 2020 or thereabout. Only candidates
of Kalimpong District and three Hill Sub-divisions of Darjeeling,
namely, Darjeeling Sadar, Mirik and Kurseong will be allowed to appear
at Darjeeling Centre.
The Final Written Examination will be held at Kolkata in January, 2021 or thereabout.
Personality Test will be held thereafter in the office of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal.

Examination Fee for Civil Judge West Bengal PSC:
Candidates must pay Examination Fee of Rs.210/-
NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ ST CANDIDATES OF WEST BENGAL AND PWD CANDIDATES.
