1) President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the 18th National Scout and Guide Jamboree, at Rohat in the Pali district of Rajasthan.

2) The Union Home Ministry has constituted a high-powered committee to discuss safeguarding land and employment in Ladakh.

5) The Zeliangrong Community in Manipur celebrated the Gaan Ngai festival, a major annual event that takes place after the harvest season.

6) Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the 108th Indian Science Congress (ISC) via video conferencing.

7) India's unemployment rate rose to 8.30% in December, the highest in 16 months, from 8.00% in the previous month, according to data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE).

8) Telangana government has launched the 10th phase of Rythu Bandhu, the investment support scheme for farmers.

➨ Under this phase, 7,676 crores will be deposited in the bank accounts of over 70 lakh 54 thousand farmers towards investment support for the Rabi crop season.

9) The Government of India has officially recognised 'E-Sports' (Electronic Sports) as a part of Multi-sports events.

11) Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the Sampark Kranti Express train between Ahmedabad and Delhi will be renamed as Akshardham Express as a tribute to Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the spiritual guru of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha.

12) Ecuador, Japan, Malta, Mozambique, and Switzerland officially began their two-year term as non-permanent members of the UNSC.

➨ The five latest members are replacing India, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico and Norway.
